1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
• Candidates must possess elementary knowledge of computer operations with the ability of typing on a computer.

2. Age Limit (as of 1st January of Notification Year)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 40 Years
• Upper Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST candidates of West Bengal: 5 Years (Up to 45 years)
  • OBC-A & OBC-B candidates (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Up to 43 years)
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD - 40%+): Up to 45 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per government statutory rules

3. Language Requirement

• Ability to read, write, and speak in Bengali (Not mandatory for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Part-I Examination (Objective MCQ Type)

• Total Marks: 100 Marks | Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes (90 Minutes)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Part-II Examination (Conventional Written Type)

• Total Marks: 66 Marks / 100 Marks scale | Duration: 1 Hour (60 Minutes)
• Group A (English): Drafting a report from given points, Precis writing, Translation from Bengali/Vernacular to English.
• Group B (Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali): Drafting a report, Precis writing, Translation from English to vernacular.

Final Merit Ranking

The final merit list is prepared strictly based on the total aggregate marks obtained in Part-I and Part-II combined, subject to qualifying the Computer Typing Test.

• Fundamentals of the English language: Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and their correct usage, Idioms & Phrases, Prepositions, Spotting Errors.

2. General Studies (Part-I)

• Matters of everyday observation including everyday science
• Current Events & General Knowledge
• History of India (Indian Freedom Movement, National Leaders)
• Geography of India with special focus on West Bengal physical & economic geography
• Basic Indian Constitution & Political System

3. Arithmetic (Part-I - Madhyamik Standard)

• Divisibility, Fractions, Decimals, Recurring Decimals, Simplification
• HCF and LCM, Partnership, Averages
• Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Profit and Loss
• Simple Interest & Compound Interest
• Time and Work, Time and Distance, Pipes & Cisterns

• General (UR): 65.00 – 68.00
• OBC-B: 63.50 – 66.00
• OBC-A: 58.00 – 61.50
• SC: 54.00 – 58.00
• ST: 41.00 – 44.50

Note: Part-II cutoffs are aggregated with Part-I to determine final recommendation orders.
